We're actually at ETK's condo, resting up before we go out to dinner. We did the World of Coke tour, which I think is a must do when in Atlanta.
ETK is tired now. I think we wore her out.:)
We get to meet the imfamous "B" tonight. I can't wait. He's so damn cute. Well...almost as cute as Lovee.....and Baby.....third in line...how's that?
Can't post any pics yet cuz I forgot to bring my cord thingie for my camera.
Sorry..I had to forget something didn't I?
The Hotel ETK booked for us is absolutely devine!!! The wallpaper reminds me of Tali's blog. It's not table salt...but Sea Rocks....I think. You'll have to wait untill I get home to see it...totaly cool!!
We leave here tomorrow morning at O-dark-thirty. Ugh. Heading for Berkley Springs, W. Virginia. One of Lovee's sister's lives there.
I'll miss ETK and Baby.......but they've got to get back to work.
Ohhhhh...one more thing.
We named Flamingo. He will now be referred to as Fipps.....sometimes Fippy....the Fipster....
I know. Your life is more complete now that you know this.
Glad to help.

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
............................. (Hardly seems worth it.)
If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
..............................(Now that's more like it!)
The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.
............................ (In my next life, I want to be a pig.)
A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death.
............................ (Creepy.) (I'm still not over the pig.)
Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a hour
............................(Don't try this at home, maybe at work)
The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the males head off.
........................... (Honey, I'm home. What the...?!)
The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.
........................... (30 minutes..lucky pig! Can you imagine?)
The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
...........................(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)
Some lions mate over 50 times a day.
..........................(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)
Butterflies taste with their feet.
..........................(Something I always wanted to know.)
The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.
........................ (If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)
Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
........................ (Okay, so that would be a good thing)
A cat's urine glows under a black light.
.........................(I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)
An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
........................ ( I know some people like that.)
Starfish have no brains
.........................(I know some people like that too.)
Polar bears are left-handed.
.........................(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)
Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
.........................(What about that pig??)

I've got a list going for all the things I need to do before we leave on our vacation. It's not too long but I'm a list maker so I had to do it by days. Geesh.....not that I need to do it anymore. I got into the habit of doing it when I was still 'gainfully' employed. You know, so I wouldn't forget something. Now that I'm actually on vacation 'before' my vacation it's so much mor enon-stressful to get ready. Woo-hoo!!! Come on..everyone 'Happy dance' with me!!!!!!!
It's going to be a whirlwind trip though. Thats fine by me. Just get my happyass outta here for a while. :)
First lag of the trip will be to Atlanta to see ETK. She's the only one of our kids whose home we've never visited. Gasp! I know....but we didn't get to # 1 son's house untill last year, along with seeing # 2 son's and wifey house a the same time. They're in Texas so it's a wee bet closer. # 3 son lives here as does daughersunshine.
So.........after Atlanta, we'll go to Berkley Springs, W.V. to see one of Lovee's sisters. I adore all of his sisters....all 3 of them! It'll be a blast.
We're staying at a hotel that's only a couple blocks from ETK's place in Atlanta. We, unfortunately can't stay w/ her b/c she's got too many kitties for my allergies and asthma. :( Same with Lovee's sister. We're going to be in a cabin up there.!!
I'm so flippin excited! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have one more 'Mom' duty before we leave. Mom is having another stress test on her heart tomorrow. She's been having problems lately and the Dr. thinks it's necessary. Mom is a bit nervous about it. Anyway, the Dad plays golf on Wednesdays. So, Sisterlittle will take Mom to the Dr. @ 8 a.m. and wait for her to get though with her 3 hour! test while I take the Dad to his friends house for their 10 am. golf day. Works for me. I need to go to town anyway and get the oil changed in Suzi and do a couple other errands. Like a Mani/pedi....I haven't had one in years!
# 3 son and his girlfriend/fiance'...( whatever) gave me a gift cert. on Mothers day for one. Now's a good time to use it I think.
That's it for now. I've gotta get busy with my list.

She sent me my very own Flamingo which will, of course, be traveling with us on our upcoming trip. :) There was also a memo pad that says 'WOW! You make me smile...I Love You!' and a pad that says 'I don't do mornings'. Ha...
There were also some bags with a bunch of computer thing-a-mabobs, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do with them....lol...I'm so NOT a techie person with computers. :) I'm sure she'll give me some instructions and tell me what I can do with them....
I also went shopping with Sisterlittle and found these fabulous sandals at Dillards.. These are exactly what I was looking for when we went to Greece but couldn't find any. Of course! Anyway...looked at hundreds of purses and finally found this one at Tj Max. Only $20.00!! That makes up for the $$ I spent on the shoes. lol...I know everywoman out there will understand the logic for that.
And of course as soon as Flamingo saw the purse she immediately jumped into it!

This is a pic of my Sunshine girl with her partner "Punky" getting all excited over their new BBQ grill. Punky put it together and we grilled hamburgers after putting up a privacy fence in their backyard.
This is a pic of Panda. We were in the 'frady' hole and she wasn't too happy.
This is our backyard after on of our storms!!! The water actually ended up covering the entire yard...no green grass was visible 30 minutes later. ( got the camera a wee bit wet getting this shot) Lovee's put in a French drain to help with the run-off.....geez!!!
Now, this one below is of Babyboy's girlfriend at their place with the wolves. They're getting so big! Babyboy made them a shelter/den/climb-on-thingie. lol
Guess that's it for now. I have more to share of the Squiddly's visit but I have to find those....... Why can't this picture thing be easier for me?????? ugh!!!!

I did manage to keep busy.....got all of the 'wet' cleaning done , which is cleaning 3 bathrooms, and sweeping and mopping the floors, scouring the kitchen sink went to the store, took the papers to the recycle place, took both of them to the creepy foot doctor ( that's a whole other story) picked up all the debris from in the yard from our last storm, dusted the whole house...which is actually part of my today's 'dry' cleaning and even managed to work a few crossword puzzles and smoke about a half pack of cigarettes. Actually, I just lit them and worked the puzzles...so they mostly burned out. Of course, lunch was in there somewhere....Mom doesn't like to eat alone so I have to at least sit w/ her; we had leftover oven-baked mac and cheese. Yummm.....The Dad always eats lunch late. He started to fix his half sandwich while I was cooking the bacon. Oh yea....about every couple weeks I have to cook 2 lbs of bacon. Uh-huh...microwave 2 lbs of bacon; he has a half sandwich w/ one piece of bacon and ketchup every-elfing-day along with milk and grapes or an orange and a pinwheel cookie; and one day a week his breakfast has bacon.
The routines for what food is eaten on what day drive me nucking futs.
Mom has a bowl of cereal everyday at lunch...unless I've made baked mac and cheese. :)
So, today is 'dry' cleaning. But since I've done the dusting that only leaves vacuuming. Of course it will take me a while cuz it's a big house. 2 story, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths( 2 w/ partial carpeting ), den, formal living and dining room, utility room and of course the extra wide double garage. It's a big house....much bigger than they need now obviously...but they don't want to move...which is one of the reasons I'm doing this.....
Dad has taken to using the bathroom in the upstairs 'suite' as Mom calls it. It was originally a Mother-inlaw's quarters...it had a little kitchenette in a room between the bedroom and bathroom. That was my room a lifetime ago.
Oh yea...back to my chores for today. It's Wednesday so Dad golfs. I take him to his friends house and his friend drives them to the club. They smack a few balls and then I pick him back up and bring him home. Mom's got a nail appt. and the cable guy is supposed to come over sometime....plus vacuuming.....and that's it. Supposedly. Of course there's always the makeing of the bed each morning....Mom can't get dressed unless the bed is made....so she says... and Dad will see something in the paper he doesn't understand and I'll have to try and figure out a way to get him to understand it. That's always fun. Uh-huh....
The good news is I get to go do a wee bot of tanning this morning. That's what I do for me...when I can. I've finally discovered the standup booths..soooo much easier on my old body. No climbing in and out. It's the little things. :)
Plus we've opened our pool so I've got to take a water sample in and get some chemicals. We're supposed to have another
Looks like I've rambled long enough about my daily life.
Next week, if the weather cooperates, I'm building a whimsical thingie for the new garden bed I made for Mom in their back yard. ( I'm the gardener too) I was over at Ginni's place and saw the cutest thing. Tipsy pots! Look for them, she's got a picture to show it and tells how it's done.
Gotta jet...................gotta get ready..and go Tan then off to the parentals...
The fun never ends.

Too pooped to even think lately. The parentals are......being parents...
nuf said. ;)
On a liter note...Squiddly and his Lovely and the urchins will be here Thursday!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so elfing excited.
Hopefully I'll be rested by the time they get here.

But, the more often I went, the more comfortable I became and often I looked forward to it. That part amazed me because I've never been gung-ho on organized religion. I was raised in this very church and enjoyed it as a teen. We did fun stuff and we had a lot of teen groups and activities. But, the older I got the less I wanted to go. Part of that was because I didn't want to get up in the mornings...duh! Part of it was because I started noticing how narrow minded the congregation was.
When our kids were little, every time we moved to a new military base, I would find a church for us to go to. I thought it was important for the kids to be exposed to religion and to be able to one day make up their minds as to what they would believe. After all I thought, I was raised in the Methodist church and I turned out ok. Lovee's grandfather was a Baptist preacher and his Mom was quite knowledgeable in the field of religion....but he didn't like to go....he didn't like the message of burning in hell and being told what to think.
So, back to my original thought...........
A few months ago, I was singing and enjoying the sermon in church one day and thought ...hummmmm, I really enjoy coming here...I love Pastor Sharon....she's vibrant and always upbeat and is so full of love for everyone and truly seems to care for the entire congregation. Maybe I should join and show my support and get involved with some of the church's mission works. I LOVE helping people and doing for people. I love talking to all the people, some I've known my entire life....Yea, that's the ticket... I thought.
Then the UMC had it's conference. And in this conference they set policy and doctrine. I think deep down I knew what was coming and probably knew it was already in place but chose to ignore it. Basically this is part of what was decided.
"Since the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching, self-avowed practicing homosexuals are not to be accepted as candidates, ordained as ministers, or appointed to serve in The United Methodist Church."
Well, let me tell you....my heart sunk. I had always believed the Methodist church was rather liberal in it's thinking; more so than other denominations.
The wind was knocked out of my sails and my thoughts of joining were put to pasture.
I can't join something when one of their core beliefs goes against something I believe.
I refuse to believe someones sexual orientation should keep them from doing something what they want. Period. Do heterosexuals have a choice in being attracted to the opposite sex? Hell no!!! Do Gays and Lesbians have a choice in being attracted to the same sex? hell no! What's the problem? There isn't one as far as I can see.
I came to realize that I was in the mist of some really nice people who I liked sharing time with but have a completely different set of core values than I do. I can't 'join' them. If I did, it would be like saying I agree with what their doctrine says. And I don't. I know too many people who are Gay or Lesbians.....friends, relatives.....they're just people. It's only love....what's the big stink!
So, there. It's out of my grape now and hopefully it'll quit looping....I have to squish my grape from time to time or else I 'loop' like Dad does. ( and that drives me ape-shit-crazy)
So, I'm not enjoying my time at church as much anymore. And that's ok. It's just another part of my 'job'. I am a spritual person and I do believe in God....but I view the bible as a guide rather than an absolute. I will just try to be the best person I can and that....I will be very content with.
On a lighter note.......I wore capri's this past Sunday and got quite a bit of self satisfaction whenever I saw people looking at the tattoo on my ankle and rolling their eyes. Only one person actually said something. An older guy...90 yrs old or so said..." I've only got one question...how drunk were you when you got that tattoo?" I said " Cold stone sober....it was my birthday present to myself when I turned 50...and when I figure out where to put it I'm going to get a pink flamingo tattoo too." His reply....." Good for you". ( I give him a big ol kiss every time I see him!) ;)
I hope I didn't offend. Just had to get it out there. Had to make some jelly.
