If the Mom knew I put this picture anywhere but the trash she'd have my head!!!!!!!!!! This is her normal look though....uh-huh....reminds me of those Maxine cards only w/o the humor. But hey...I guess when your blind and 84 you can look any way you want...right?

I, too, love the early-gray hair that some have.
I'm getting lots in front where my hair is dark (salt-n-pepper) but the rest is lighter brown. I swear I don't color it, but I'm sure people think I do!
I'm sorry your mom is so dour. My grandmother got that way by the time she was in her late 70's ...nearly 10 years of dourness. Ugh. Still, we were happy to have her with us while she was alive.
KC: ppl think I color my hair too..I don't cuz I love the gray! Dour is a great word. Very apt.
Sunshine is beautiful...thanks for saying so. She's worked very hard and is so healthy now. That's the best part.
