Good thing it's raining.....

As I was driving in this morning, I got behind a really slow driver just as I left the highway. For a second I was thinking..'what??? this jerk thinks this is a school zone or something?/!...then I noticed. I couldn't see a head above the headrest. Hummm....then I saw the driver sorta lean over as if he were trying to see the shops along the road. I went around him, slowly, and then I saw something that made for some heavy leakage from the eyeballs. It was a wee little old man trying to see ( I 'm guessing here) the addresses on the buildings. I immediately thought of my Dad before he quit driving. He couldn't see well either and would drive either too fast or too slow. Usually the later. He was all alone in the car and was talking to himself. I felt so bad for him. I was thinking about getting back behind him to...I don't know....to make sure he made it to his destination, when I saw him turn into a driveway of a local store.
Broke my heart I tell ya. I went on, but the image of that will likely stay with me for quite a while.
Like I said good thing its raining today....when I got out of the car it hid my tears.

you have such a good heart. the little ladies at the Stop N' Shop bring tears to my eyes when they can't open their trunk or they can't back out of the space.

I always want to take everyone home with me.

Those things are kind of sad to see... I'm a softie like that myself. Once met an old man going the wrong way on a one way street... and after I initially angrily honked my horn at him and saw the look on his face I almost wanted to drive after him and stop him to say "I'm sorry".

I'm pretty sure if I'd driven after and tried to stop him I'd have made things worse though... scaring the poor old dude!

I'm a softie too, but I do think that if things like this ever happen to me, please be kind enough to take away my license. It would be worse if I hurt, maimed or even (gulp) killed someone. . . .

This happened to my sister's shop, EmBARK Pet spa just yesterday.

Ooops. The article didn't mention that it was an elderly lady who panicked and hit the gas instead of the brakes. At the time she was trying to beat a semi-trailer truck who was in front of her at a stoplight, so she tried to go around it in a one car lane.

All: it's so sad to get in that position. i too hope that someone takes my keys. I also wish people would be more tolerant of old people who look so lost....ummm...and that includes me I'm sorry to say.

Oh, TT. That would have made me sad, too.
